Recreational activities
During conference breaks you can relax by getting to know Fiskars Village, either on your own or by taking part in some of the planned activities. In this historic ironworks village you can see the best of modern design and art at a variety of exhibitions and shops. You can also visit the workshops of artists and artisans, and even try your hand at some of their skills. We will gladly help you plan a program of activities to fit in with your schedule and wishes.
Some of the activities available at Fiskars Village are:
Guided tour
Take a guided tour of Fiskars Village to learn more about its ironworks history and the work of the artists and artisans who live and work here today. Duration approx. 1 hour. Price per group EUR 65.
Try your hand at a creative skill
Visit a glassblower's workshop and learn how to blow glass and fashion an object for yourself. The price per person for blowing a glass object is EUR 40 (EUR 3 / person extra fee for glass blowing after 5 pm). Visit a smithy and try your hand at forging or make paper in the paperworkshop. Price per person for forging a nail or making paper is EUR 25.
One hour in a workshop will give approximately 6–8 people time to make an object.
Go fishing
At Fiskars Village, you can try fly fishing or take a longer fishing trip. Tailor-made fishing services are available from Orvis. As an example of the pricing, it costs EUR 60 per person for a two-hour session with a guide to introduce you to the secrets of fly fishing.
Fresh air and exercise
An hour or two of Nordic walking or gymnastic exercise out of doors will liven up your conference. An hour's Nordic walking with a guide or stick gymnastics costs EUR 160 per group (max. 25 people). In winter, you can wear snowshoes to explore the countryside around Fiskars Village, at a cost of EUR 220 per group (max. 14 people), or EUR 400 per group (max. 28 people).
Personnel training and activities
Stara Team offers groups personnel training sessions which combine an activity session together with theory and discussion. Getting to know Fiskars Village on your own
Fiskars Village has many different shops and workshops which, from mid-October through April, are open Tuesday to Sunday from noon till 5 p.m. From May to mid-October they are open every day of the week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. High-quality art and design exhibitions are held at Fiskars throughout the year, and the permanent Fiskars 1649 exhibition tells the history of the ironworks village. Exploring the natural beauty of Fiskars Village on your own is easy. The Tree Path allows you to identify the most common trees of woodland and parks. Two kilometers from the village is the starting point for the Torby Wood Walk, along which you will see a variety of woodland, experience the tranquility of an old forest, and see evidence of past inhabitants all the way back to the Iron Age.
